Here are three things you can do to maximize the life of your favorite throw!
Trim your wick
Trimming your wick allows the candle to burn cleanly, meaning little to no soot, and it Keeps your vessel from getting too hot while it burns. Lastly, this allows your candle to burn evenly, so you get a better scent throw!
Melt pools are key!
A melt pool is when your candle melts to the point where your wax and vessel meet. This is especially important on the first burn, but I believe every burn should meet the edge so that you avoid tunneling and your wick doesn't drown because of the wax built up along the border.
Leave in a safe place
Make sure to leave your candle away from anything flammable! To maximize your candle's life, do not place it under a heating or cooling vent, by an open window, or near a draft; this will not work to your candle's advantage. If you have your candle in a hot spot (like your kitchen while cooking), that will make them burn even hotter and can shorten the life of your candle. A fire-resistant surface away from too much direct light or draft is always the best spot in your home!
